Alberto Santos-Dumont (1873 - 1932)

Alberto Santos-Dumont was a Brazilian aviation pioneer. He designed and flew hot-air balloons and early dirigibles. Later he constructed an aircraft with which he made the first heavier-than-air flight in Europe certified by the Aéro-Club de France.
