James Hinton (1822 - 1875)

James Hinton was an English aural surgeon, author, and father of mathematician Charles Howard Hinton. He was an associate of WW Gull, whom some suspect was Jack the Ripper. Hinton has been portrayed in some works of fiction as a beneficient doctor in contrast to Gull.
