Robert W. Imbrie (1883 - 1924)
American lawyer and diplomat. He joined the French Army as an ambulance driver in the Great War, serving at Verdun and on the Salonika front before leaving in 1917 to join the American Foreign Service. In 1924 as U. S. Vice Consul in Persia (now Iran), he was killed by a Muslim mob who thought he was a Baha'i.
