Weldon Cobb (1849 - 1922)

Weldon J. Cobb was a Chicago author and reporter and the city editor for the newspaper. He wrote children's novels for Street and Smith. He was also a writer for the Stratemeyer Syndicate, a book packaging company that specialized in juvenile fiction. Under the pseudonym of "Roy Rockwood," Cobb wrote the Dave Dashaway series, which appeared between 1913 and 1915.
