Juan Cruz Varela (1794 - 1839)

Juan Cruz Varela was an Argentinian writer and politician, brother to the Unitary leader Florencio Varela. Juan Cruz opposed, like his brother, the government of Rosas and, for that cause, was exiled in Montevideo, where he wrote poetry and plays, as well as translated Classics.
