John Baptiste Bernadou (1858 - 1908)

An officer in the United States Navy during the Spanish-American War. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Bernadou graduated from the Naval Academy in 1880. He was promoted ten numbers for gallantry in action while commanding USS Winslow at the First and Second Battle of Cardenas, Cuba, from May 8 to May 11, 1898.
