We appear to have made it to the radio* airwaves in Australia, can anyone (chris?) confirm whether we were released from the internet for general consumption? In any case, we are listed on the net at ABC Radio National’s: WebWatch (with Debbie Spillane and Alex Zaharov-Reutt), along with the Church Sign Generator, which is actually pretty cool, and very addictive.
See more here.
I am particularly happy because ABC RN is among the most progressive podcasters in public radio worldwide, and in particular they podcast a LibriVox favourite: Books and Writing.
*for those who don’t know, radio is kind of like a wifi-enabled computer except it only recieves, and replays, sound signals.
I live in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales in Australia, and I can confirm that News Radio – my favourite radio station – did broadcast your web details around 2 hours ago. They have a weekly “Web Watch” programme that highlights and publicises the best of the net. You can listen to ABC News Radio on line at http://www.abc.net.au/newsradio/. Their presenters often make spontaneous, funny and irreverent comments about the news articles they cover. Very enjoyable radio, especially the breakfast (Australian time)show!
I missed it :(. And I tend to listen to News Radio, especially at the weekend. Ah well.
Hi there,
This is Alex Zaharov-Reutt… we did include the Librivox website on our weekly WebWatch segment – I hope it helped generate some traffic for you! And yes, the Church Sign Generator is definitely fun. Go to the ABC NewsRadio website http://www.abc.net.au/newsradio/WEBWATCH.htm site and check out the warning label generator!
Best of luck with Librivox
Cheers
Alex.
Hi again
Oops the correct address for Webwatch is http://www.abc.net.au/newsradio/programs/WEBWATCH.htm
Cheers
Alex.
