The American Girl
Alexander Hamilton Laidlaw was born in Scotland. He graduated from Philadelphia Central High School in 1845.
He practiced medicine from 1856-1905 and published some works including Soldier Songs and Love Songs, 1898, from which our Fortnightly Poem is taken. (David Lawrence)
