I’m just writing to let you know that we plan on including one of your files on our operating system CD. It is a Linux-based system called Ubuntu. You can read more about it here: http://www.ubuntu.com/ I’ll probably go with Alice in Wonderland, Ch.1, but suggestions are welcome.

We are quite restricted on disk space on the CD itself, so I’ve taken the liberty of compressing down the file a bit. I’ve merged it to mono and encoded it in speex format with a lower sampling rate, but I’ll link to the original as well. I think it still sounds fairly good, and the size was reduced from about 10mb to 2.8.

Nice!

  2. Cool! I use Ubuntu on my home PC, now if only I could get my Echo Mia soundcard working there I could decimate my Windows install :)
