A Beginner's Guide to the LibriVox Wiki
Account Creation, Log-In, and Page Editing
Don't be scared of the many images - this should let you run through account creation, login, and page-editing like a breeze. Don't worry, you can't screw anything up. I suggest you leave this guide open in one browser-window and do the steps in another window next to it.
Please open the Wiki in another browser window now: right-click this link: http://librivox.org/wiki/moin.cgi/
Account Creation
You know that in a Wiki everybody can edit all pages. But you may only edit pages after you've created a user-account with a password and logged into that account. So let's do all that.
Please follow the red instructions:
Your account has been created. Now, in the next step, log-in with the user-name / password that you just created.
Done. If logging in for the first time, you will now be directed to your User Settings.
Setting some preferences
The following settings are my preferences. You must not use my settings in order to work with the Wiki, but those changes helped me to find my way around. The use of my styles (the user-CSS) is optional as well - it will simply change the way the Wiki looks - but you should try. I think it makes the Wiki more legible and sleek.
You can copy and paste the URL for the stylesheet from here: http://www.moebius.mynetcologne.de/librivox/style2.css
It will look like this now
Page Editing
Now visit a page you'd like to edit. Perhaps you'd like to help in translation of Librivox into Italian, French, or another language? Please visit: Librivox Homepage Translation
(...must not click Italian of course)
In the default wiki style you will find the edit-page link here:
The Editor Box
The editor for this page has appeared. Now fill in text.
