Advice from Editors

All the reading and recording activity at LibriVox results in a lot of editing. Nearly all the editing is done by the readers making the recording, and everything is learned by trials and errors. There are other wiki pages for AdvicefromVolunteers, AdvicefromReaders, AdvicefromProoflisteners, AdvicefromBookCoordinators, AdvicefromTechTypes, and AdviceonStuff -- but this page is for advice about Editing.

Add tips to this page, or add a link here to a wiki page you've written about Editing. Or describe and link to an online tutorial or editorial or advice-a-torial about editing that you particularly like. Thank you for sharing!

The Forum

The LibriVox forum is a very good place to start from for advice on editing. Check out the FAQ first.

Note that recent versions of Audacity include a state-of-the-art noise-removal capability which can enhance recordingd with troublesome background noise. Check out the forum page.
