Hi Psuke,
I'll be your MC. Give me a minute to set you up in the database, and then I'll be back to help you with filenames, tags, and server space... _________________ Kara

Ok, I'm back! You're in the database, and I added filename and id3 tag info to your first post for your reference.
Here's an uploader for you to use to transfer your files to me:
http://upload.librivox.org/
U: librivox
P: librivox123
Let's see... I think this is your first solo, so I'll PM you a username and password so you can edit your "Magic Window" up there in the first post. There are only a few things you'll need to do. To enter the rest of your chapter titles, just click the "edit" link in the "title" column, type in the title, and hit your "enter" key to save the info.
As you upload your chapters, add the full link to the "Listen Link" column and check the "completed" box on the right side.
If you have any trouble at all, do yell for help :)
We'll try to find you a dedicated proof-listener, too. It's really encouraging to get fast feedback after every completed chapter!
I noticed that the Preface is pretty short. It doesn't seem worth putting it in its own file, so how about combining it with this first chapter, like this:
| Quote: | "Preface and Chapter 1 of Psmith, Journalist. This is a librivox recording. All librivox recordings are in the public domain. blah blah...
Psmith, Journalist by P.G. Wodehouse. Preface. THE conditions of life in New York... blah blah
Chapter 1, Cosy Moments. The man in the street would not have known it, but a great crisis
was imminent in New York journalism.
|
Of course if you prefer to have it separate, that's ok, and I can add section 0 to your Magic Window.
Do please keep your original recordings on your own computer until the whole project is finished, just in case. And please check in with me every month, even if Real Life gets in the way and you can't get any recording done for a while. If I don't hear from you for two months, I'll move this thread out of the way -- but any admin will be able to get it back for you when you return :)
Happy reading! _________________ Kara

I haven't forgotten about this project, and I still very much want to read this book, so please don't give up on me - it's just taking rather longer than I had thought.
Right now I'm shooting for the end of December, since I do have a couple of long-ish chapters left on another project. |

| Hey, Kara - I've recorded the preface and first chapter. How do you want me to name the mp3 file? |

| Just realized that contrary to my own firm belief, chapter 10 has not been done. That will be completed tomorrow night. |

Hey there Psuke, nice to see you again! Hmm... we need to find you a proof listener. I'll see if I can rustle someone up. _________________ Kara
