NOTE: Caeristhiona is the new MC for this project

[Chinese] Three Hundred Tang Poems - Volume 3 - 唐诗三百首 卷三

This audiobook is now complete and available to download from the catalogue page:- http://librivox.org/three-hundred-tang-poems-volume-3-by-various/

Compiled around 1763, 'Three Hundred Tang Poems' is the standard collection of the poetic art of the Tang Dynasty (618 to 907). Volume Three has poems in the style 五言律诗 'five character regular verse' (poems 90 to 169).

  1. How to claim a part, and 'how it all works' here
To find a poem to record, simply look at the 'magic window' below. Choose any poem, whether it has already been recorded or not - we welcome multiple versions! Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which poem(s) you would like to read (include the poem number, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.

  2. New to recording?
Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!

  3. Is there a deadline?
Target completion date of this project: 30th September, but try to send your recordings as soon as you can. If you cannot do a poem you've claimed, for whatever reason, just let me know and itll go back to the pool. Theres no shame in this; were all volunteers and things happen.

  4. Where do I find the text?
The poem numbers below link to the text, with translation and clickable dictionary entry for each character.

  5. Please claim poems by quoting the poem numbers!

    link

  6. BEFORE recording:
    Please check the Recording Notes:
    http://librivox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=6427#6430

    Set your recording software to:
    Bit Rate: 128 kbps
Sample Rate: 44.1 kHz preferred, 32 and 22.5 also acceptable

  7. DURING recording:
Make sure you add this to the beginning and end of your recording:
    Start of recording (Intro)
    • 这是[your name] 为 LibriVox 点 org 所提供的录音
    • If you wish, say:
"[city; your blog/podcast/web address; year, month]"

    • Say:
      "唐诗三百首,卷三,[poem number, poem title, author]"

    End of recording
    • At the end of the section, say:
      完。 LibriVox 的录音都是公众所有的"

Please leave a couple of seconds silence at the end of your recording!

Also, please remember to check this thread frequently for updates!

  8. AFTER recording:
    Save files as
    128 kbps MP3
    300tangpoems_vol_3_###.mp3 , all lower-case, where ### is your three-digit poem number. (300tangpoems_vol_3_090.mp3)

    ID3 V2 tags
(To find out more about ID3 tags, go to our wiki: http://librivox.org/wiki/moin.cgi/WhatIsID3)
Add the following tags to your .mp3 file (how you do this depends on which software you use if you are unsure about ID3 tags, send me a message). Please mind upper and lower case!

    Title: [### poem title]
    Artist: [Author name]
Album: Three Hundred Tang Poems, Volume 3
    Genre: Speech

(Note that ID3 tags need to be in English, not Chinese script).
    Transfer of files (completed recordings)
Please always post in this forum thread when you've sent a file.
Also, post the length of the recording (file duration: mm:ss) together with the link.

    • Upload your file with the LibriVox Uploader (when your upload is complete, you will receive a link - please post it in this thread):
      http://upload.librivox.org

(If you have trouble reading the image above, please message an admin)
You'll need to select the MC, which for this project is: ec - earthcalling
    • If this doesn't work, or you have questions, please check our How To Send Your Recording wiki page.

I'll need the following information from you when you submit a recording:
    - your name as you want it to appear in the LibriVox catalog,
    - your webpage URL (if applicable)
    - the runtime of the recording in format hh:mm:ss

Any questions?
Please post below or PM me.

David

Thought I'd get re-acquainted with my home recording kit.
Poem 090 has been uploaded to your server. Took the liberty to make a new folder for volume 3.

Hi everyone, I'm new to recording at LibriVox (although I've enjoyed listening to recordings already), and look forward to the experience.

I'd like to record Wang Wei's poems, numbered 115-123, for this project.

Thanks much,

Goldwave

That would be wonderful, Goldwave!

I'd suggest you record one poem first, and send that in so I can do a quick technical check before you go too far. But if you've read the instructions all should be fine.

For interest, will you be reading in Mandarin or another dialect?
