This book is complete and can be downloaded from the LibriVox catalogue: http://librivox.org/la-divina-commedia-by-dante-alighieri/

Is there anybody willing to help me with this work?
It's my first book and I hope it would turn out very well, so I definitely need someone who wants to help me through this recording, plus, if you like the Florentine accent, this is a chance to use it and improve it while you're reading a master piece! Very Happy
but, of course, the accent is not neccesary, anyone who can read Italian is welcome:)
If you have any question about how to pronounce a word, feel free to ask me:)

La Divina Commedia di Dante by Dante Alighieri
Target completion date: 01 February, 2007

Please note that this work will be recorded in the original Italian language. Anyone who can read Italian is welcome to participate!

Brilliant, Alessia - our first Italian project! I wish I could do the Florentine, or in fact any other Italian, accent... I've just signed up to read a chapter of Machiavelli in English, and think the Italian names are difficult enough for now :)

Hugh - if you're reading this, have you contacted the Italian LV offshoot yet? Perhaps they might like to join in here.

Hope you'll get fellow readers soon, Alessia - perhaps you have some friends or family who like reading aloud? I shall ask some Italian friends of mine, too.

Wow, Alessia, this is great! I'm afraid I can't help you with this project but I will add you to the "to come" section of our catalog!

I'll be more than glad to help yo with this challenge as much as I can. Put me in for "02 -- Canto VI - Canto X" del Inferno.

Let's try to cross together questa selva selvaggia e aspra e forte!

I can't be sure my acccent will be the best, so I'll let you judge and help me improve this over time.

    Best regards,

    Dear Alessia,
I'd be glad to help you with Dante. I thought to start recording from canto XXXI to canto XXXIV (Inferno). Could you please answer me here or send me a mail (in italian please!) so you can tell me more things about the project? Thanks!

    Dear Alessia,
thanks a lot. Under the nick of Tizzi there's not 1 but 2 persons. Simone, who found out this web-site and had the idea to tell his flatmate Giulia, who loves the Divine Comedy, to read it for this project. She was delighted and started immediately to train. So Simone is taking care of all the tecnical problems while Giulia does the actual reading. Simone speaks some english while Giulia speaks it a bit less and, as she gets the emails, that's why we asked to write in italian if you send a mail. You'll be happy to know that we both are tuscans, so you'll be able to hear some tuscan accent. Hope to send something as soon as possible!

    Dear Gesine,
you won't believe I found out about this web site reading and article about it a local tuscan newspaper called "Il Tirreno". I remember I seached the net for free audobooks like 1 year ago and found nothing. So you can imagine what a nice news it was reading that someone had the great idea of making free audobooks.

Excellent, two people in one! Sorry for not writing in Italian, btw (and nice of you to respond in English), I've only just started learning it... my conversational level is currently at "I only speak a little Italian." - "No, you speak it very well!" - "Thank you, signorina." - "Can you give me some money?" - "Yes, how much do you want?" etc... :)
