This project is complete and can be downloaded here from the LibriVox catalogue: http://librivox.org/the-rosary-by-florence-louisa-barclay/

Title: The Rosary
Author: Florence L. Barclay
Source: http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/3659
Target Date: March 1, 2007

"The Rosary" is a beautiful lovestory. Gareth Dalmain falls in love with the Honorable Jane Champion. She loves him back, but does not trust his love, as he is known to be a great lover of beauty, and she - alas - is very plain. Just as she decides to trust him regardless, she receives news that he has been blinded in a hunting accident. She wants to go visit him, but he will not receive her, as he wants only her love - not her pity. With the help of their mutual friend and doctor, she gets the position as his nurse under a presumed name, and thereby gets to know the 'new' Gareth.
(Summary by Maria Elmvang)

Recording Notes:

* Begin your recording with the standard Librivox Disclaimer: "This is a Librivox recording. All Librivox Recordings are in the public domain. For more information and to find out how you can volunteer, please visit Librivox.org"
* If you want to, say "Read by [Name, city, month, year]" (e.g. "Read by Maria Elmvang, Copenhagen, Denmark, October 2006")
* Say: "The Rosary by Florence L. Barclay."
* Say: "[Chapter ##]"
* At the end, say: "End of [Chapter ##]" (at the end of chapter 38, add : "End of The Rosary by Florence L. Barclay")
* Please leave 10 seconds of silence at the end of your recording

File Format: 44100Hz, 16-bit, 128kpbs, MP3

File Name: the_rosary_##_barclay.mp3

ID3 Tag Formats:
Title/Name:
The Rosary - Chapter ##
Artist: Florence L. Barclay
Album: The Rosary

You may either post a link to your completed files here in the forum, or email them to me by clicking this link: http://www.yousendit.com/ and sending it to maria.elmvang at gmail dot com

Please include the following with your file:
- Running time of your file in the format hour/minute/second (i.e. 00:32:14)
- Your name as you would like it to appear on the catalog page.
- URL of your homepage if you have one you would like linked to your name on the catalog page.

Each chapter is quite short. Still, I have decided to have one chapter per mp3 as it (IMHO) makes for cleaner downloading and listening. Hopefully that'll mean you feel up to volunteering for more than one section! Smile The page numbers are taken from my book... I'd guess two pages correspond to one Word page of text.

Hi Kiwiria !
Looks like a story I would enjoy reading (but shall I have the time to???)

I'll MC this project. Will get back to you later today, hopefully.

Cheers,

Have added the project to the to come list of the catalogue.
Great first post. Just a few more things I need to know :
  • do you have server space to hold the files? If not, can you ftp ?
  • your catalogue name is the same as the one you give in the disclaimer, isn't it ?
  • did you write the summary ?

I'm a bit curious but I need those infos to add them where they belong (wiki list of readers and catalogue page). For the server space, it's better if the files are kept on a server (just in case, for prooflistening and for me to easily upload them to the catalog when the time comes).

PS : BTW, have you read this : How to Become a Book Coordinator ?

Hi Ezwa,

Thanks for replying, I'm glad to have an MC Smile

As for your questions:
* do you have server space to hold the files? If not, can you ftp ?
I am not sure. I don't have server space myself, but my dad has. I need to ask him how much he has, and if I'll be able to borrow space there. I'll get back to you on that asap. Otherwise I should be able to ftp.
* your catalogue name is the same as the one you give in the disclaimer, isn't it ?
Maria Elmvang? Yup, it is.
* did you write the summary ?
Yes, I did.

PS : BTW, have you read this : How to Become a Book Coordinator ?
Yes, I did before volunteering. I wanted to make sure I didn't sign up for more than I could cope with Smile

Great Kiwiria and thanks.
If you can ftp, I can create a folder on a server (space kindly offered by Anita) and you can upload your files there as you go. Or would you rather use your father's server space ?

Using Anita's server might be the best, as I don't know if I'd be able to leave files for too long on my dad's. If it's just for a short time, before somebody else downloads it, it wouldn't be a problem, but if the files need to be there from now until the project finishes, I'm not sure there'd be room in the long run.
