This project is now complete. You can view the catalog page here:

[SPANISH]Las Fábulas de Esopo - Vol. 3

I've decided to break up the 300 fables into 10 volumes of 30 fables apiece.

If you are looking for your Fables from Vol 1 or 2, please go to Readers Found.

Hi everyone,

I thought I'd just stick up a note explaining why this project is on hold for the moment.

As you're aware, we're working from a website that says everything on it is public domain. We're currently working to see if we can verify that they are working from the English translation they say they are, and that they did the translations themselves and are therefore able to put them into the public domain. There's also the issue that these translations themselves have never been formally published, which makes them iffy in terms of what Librivox can accept for projects.

This issue is currently being discussed by the administrative team. We will get back to you as soon as we can. Hopefully, we will be able to continue with this project - but there is the possibility that we will not.

I don't yet know if an apology will be necessary, but I'd like to apologize now to all the readers who have put their time, energy, and creative effort into this project on the good-faith assumption that all was well and good. It's only been in the past few days that we've realized that we had some thinking to do, and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. I'll be sticking copies of this note in the related project threads.

-Catharine

i'm sorry to hear about that... but just in case things don't work out, how about

http://books.google.com/books?vid=05hxt_xoayFlPcJfgD9&id=jYkAAAAAMAAJ&pg=PA88

it's from google books and is definitely in the public domain since it was published in 1815.

Thank you Andrea!!

I'll have a look at the book. And if it doesn't work out I'll seriously consider it.
