Librivox Podcasters wanted for the weekly (hopefully) Librivox Community Podcast.
Interested parties either post here or alter the Librivox Community Podcast wiki page
All it involves is

1. keeping an eye on what's happening in the forums and on the new catalog releases over a week and then chatting about these things in a podcast. The rest of the format is up to you but I would request that you try to keep it upbeat and friendly.

2. Uploading the file to archive.org (contact me for details)

3. Sending me file length (in bytes - this figure will be in file properties), file name, location and title.

and that's it.
The miracle of podcasting takes over from there.

I've done a podcast for September 15th.
Betsie is doing one for the 22nd

We'll need more volunteers after that.

Check out the Wiki Page for examples of what's been done so far.

I could do a weekly, or byweekly librivox stats, meaning, listing all the new books, since the last episode, and telling how many books LV has, and whatnot.

That sounds like it might be useful.

In what format text or audio?

I could make a script in text, and use that, but I want to do audio, so where should I upload?

I would suggest wav files and yousendit should be fine.
Then you could send the link to whoever is doing the podcast for that week.
It'll say who it is in the wiki page mentioned in the first post.
If there's ever a week where no-one is doing the podcast send it to me and even if I don't have time to do a proper podcast I can just put it in an enclosure for the podcast in itself.
I'd suggest you read it as if you're doing a guest spot on a radio show.
Sort of "and now over to" ... and you come in with a cheery thankyou and then go into your spiel.

These are just suggestions.

What do you think?

Well Betsie has just finished her recording.
I'm doing next weeks and then Betsie will do the one after that so
Send your file to me by Tuesday 26th September and that should give me enough time to work with you to integrate it into mine.
I'll want to get my recording out for Thursday night.
If you then get another one ready for Betsie the following Tuesday.

Try keep it tight, informative, entertaining and understandable and we'll have a great Community Podcast.

Hee hee, I loved the way you did that! Made me chuckle (hope thats what you were going for) You put some humour into dry statistics. Laughing
