Hi Gesine,
"Cavalleria rusticana", the first story of "Vita dei campi" has been uploaded. Or not? As usual, the error message appeared, but I think it's a sort of joke of the uploader system...
I'm going to correct the chapters of Pinocchio, following the instructions by Fae.
:))

Sorry Simona, I checked this ages ago but forgot to post! Your new project files are here: http://librivox.gesine.org/solo/vita/

If the first chapter is 12.8MB, then I have it all! :)

hello ladies!

i just thought i would post in here to offer my help. i couldn't help but notice that we are short on italian proof listeners and if it would help you both i am willing to do the entire book from the begin so as to avoid having to wait to find listeners.

if this is something that appeals to you both let me know. if you would rather i not be so greedy and let others have the pleasure of listening i completely understand and will refrain from taking all the sections when they are posted.

hope the reading is going well!

fae Smile

Oooooh fae - I can't speak for Simona, but I think that would be just super and would speed up the process so much! :)

Fae,
what a great idea!!! It's fantastic to know my reading will be listened and checked step by step... Thanks a lot!
After a few days of stop, I think to read the next story, "La Lupa", during the weekend and upload it on Monday. Pinocchio has been easier to read: even though it speaks about the growing and changing of an odd kind of child, it's a funny and light story.
The stories written by Giovanni Verga, collected in "Vita dei Campi", are dramatic, full of passion, often bloody. It's a true and realistic Sicily he described, without romanticism.
So, I hope you will enjoy the listening and, please, let me know whatever doesn't go well.

Gesine,
it's a great pleasure going on with this project with you! I hope in the future there will be much more Italian readers to widen the Italian LibriVox catalogue...

:))

Thank you both for the pleasure of listening!!!

I'm downloading the first file now and will listen as soon as i get some peace and quiet; usually at night time, after my son goes to bed.

There is no rush though, right?

No rush at all, fae. You should both do this at your own speed, and enjoy the process! The great thing is that I won't need to keep up another thread in Listeners Wanted... thanks again for your kind offer, fae.

Simona, it's a great pleasure for me, too! And I agree about the Italian. I started learning Italian but have stopped again... must take it up once more. These recordings will be very helpful for me, once I know a bit more. :)

I'm uploading "La lupa", the second story of Vita dei Campi.
I agree with you: no rush at all!

Hi Simona

Got La Lupa, thank you. I noticed a problem with the file names - they won't be in order with that naming scheme. Can we replace the name of the story by 01, 02 etc? I can easily change here. Also, I'd like to eliminate the author's first name - that dot in the file name may cause problems at the cataloguing stage. In other words, I'd like to rename your La Lupa file vitadeicampi_02_verga.mp3 - is that all right?

Fae - I've updated the first post in this thread with the link for the files.

Thank you, Simona. I've renamed the first two files accordingly. One more thing: it would be helpful if you could post the file size here when you tell us that you've uploaded a new section; that way I can immediately see if something has gone wrong.

Would you please check the sizes of the first two parts (by going to the folder) and let me know if there's a problem? I don't think there is, but just in case - then fae doesn't need to download in vain.
