This book is now complete and can be downloaded from the LibriVox catalogue: http://librivox.org/lady-susan-v2-by-jane-austen/

Hi there,

I don't know if you have any use for two solo recordings of the same piece, but I'm going to record Lady Susan for my own podcast listening audience, and would be glad to make it available as a Librivox recording as well. In other words, I'm going to record it whether y'all need it or not, so please feel free to say you've already got a reader and you don't need it. :^)

Let me know,
-Sage

Also, post the length of the recording (file duration: mm:ss) together with the link.

  • Upload your file with the LibriVox Uploader (when your upload is complete, you will receive a link - please post it in this thread):

You'll need to select the MC, which for this project is: mla - AmethystA

Hello, Sage. We certainly welcome multiple versions of the same work, and at this rate you might just beat Gesine to the finishing line.

We'd need to make sure your recordings are technically ok for LV, and have the LV disclaimer (which you could add to our files but leave off your own). The basics are here:

http://librivox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=6427#6430

If you're happy, let me know and I'll create this as a new project.

David

Hi, David - Sounds good. Should I let you know as I finish the chapters, or just get back in touch when I'm finished?

Sage, re our email exchange: please post a new thread; it'll show you as reader, will be easier. Then I'll delete this one! :)

Sage,

It's probably best if I have a look/listen to the first chapter when you've got that ready. Thereafter, either way will be fine.

Good luck, Sage, and thanks for taken this on (and off me)! I'll be listening to your chapters if you post them here as you go along! :)

Sage! Do I remember you from a long-ago project? Northanger Abbey? Nice to see you again! Happy reading :)

Sage,

Just to confirm that I've changed the link for this book in our Catalogue page for 'To come - Solo Projects', so that it links to this thread.

Sage,

I'm listening to your chapter 9 of Northanger Abbey. You have a very clear and sweet voice, and very expressive, perfect for this type of writing!

You clearly know what you're doing in terms of the recording itself. I think all that remains is to decide the file names and ID3 tags that you'll use. Can you let me know what you plan to use before you send the first file?

Are you OK to use your own server again? If not, you can send files by yousendit.com to: hey(at)earthcallingdavid(dot)com

Do let me know if you have any other questions.

David

Hi Sage,

How are things going? Smile

(Not chasing, just curious!)

Yikes, sorry for the long delay. I never received notification of the above message - I am making progress, my apologies for the wait - the day I recorded the first chapter, my sound card imploded. Gah! :^)

I'll be away until Friday 13th, and probably unable to visit LV. So my apologies if anything happens and I don't respond.

Again, apologies for the very long delay. Things are finally moving here!

I have chapters 1, 2, 5, 7, and 10 ready, read by Brenda Dayne. I'm including Chapter 1 here, so you can see that we're actually making progress! :^)

(I'll add in the "this is a librivox recording" bits later, no worries).
