I have come across several books on PG that I would love to see done, and I'd even like to contribute to, but I don't yet feel "confident" enough to tackle the entire book as a solo project.

Given the popularity of the cookery books lately, (and being a vegetarian, I felt the need to suggest something that's veggie-friendly) Wink I surprisingly came across 2 titles on PG:

The Allinson Vegetarian Cookery Book by Thomas R. Allinson

and

NOTE: "C" recorded for Short Nonfiction Collection Vol. 013
Cassell's Vegetarian Cookery by A. G. Payne

http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/14594

(At a quick glance, the first one seemed a bit more "reader friendly," but that was only a brief appraisal.)

A few other books I'd suggest: (assuming they haven't already been recorded or suggested--it is possibly I missed something already being listed/mentioned) Rolling Eyes
Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm by Kate Douglas Smith Wiggin (admittedly, I haven't read it before, only looked through it briefly, but I loved the old Shirley Temple movie, LOL)

The Book of Snobs by William Makepeace Thackeray...I came across this and read part of it, and found it kind of amusing. PG does have an audio version, but it's computer generated.

Feeding my love of non-fiction, I also saw a couple of books (Around the World on a Bicycle, vol. 1&2 , by Thomas Stevens) that might make a good project. Again, I've only glanced through, but the title seems promising Smile

Hmmm. I might be able to russle up some veggies to make recordings. And I might be able to find some foodies generally.

Allinson's cookery book seems a little to me to be an excuse to advertise Allinson's flour, bread, biscuits, etc. Eg soup, serve with Allinson's Rusks.

According to Wikipedia, Vegetarianism has been going on since the 2nd millennium BC!

Looking at those two books, actually, I think Cassell's might be easier to read since its recipes are sentences -- "Cut up some carrots" -- rather than lists, like Allinson's -- "1 1/2 lb of carrots, 2 lb potatoes"

I'm getting a little enthusiastic about the prospect of this :)

Looks like there are lots of veggie and vegan podcasters out there...

Googling scifi podcasters helped us get new blood for the Verne book, maybe we can get some veggies in to help :)

I'm glad to hear that you're considering coordinating one of the veggie cookbooks Very Happy I can definitely be counted on to do at least one chapter/section(maybe more, depending on their length.)
Very Happy
