Hi. My name is Lee, and I'm a classically trained singer and voice teacher, who spends most of her spare time reading. I just found out that you can volunteer to record works here, and think that's very cool and would like to participate. My interests include - besides the obvious music - history (particularly American and English history) and biographies, cooking, fiction classics, mysteries/detective fiction, theater, and classic children's literature. That's not an exclusive listing - I find all sorts of things interesting. So here I am - where do I start?

Hello and welcome, Lee! Smile

I'd suggest reading the Newbie Guide to Recording and doing a short sample recording just to make sure that all your settings are OK, then you can choose something that appeals from any of the Readers Wanted forums. Smile

I'm reading it now and trying to get Audacity set up so I can do a sample recording. Thanks.

I have uploaded a test recording, which can be found at http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/tests/test_lmorgan923.mp3

It was fun trying to figure out how to do this.
