The weekend of the 5th of November is a really bad time to plan to do some recording in the evenings (in the UK). 
You'd think I'd know that after more than 30 years.

LOL, I did similar ... though I didn't forget, I just thought it wouldn't last very long.
And, no recording tonight either, or Sat/Sun night. *le sigh*

Hah!  It is quite peaceful here... I don't think anyone can afford fireworks any more.

It must be alot like our hallowe'en night here in Canada. Lots of fireworks, lots of kids running around, and a lot of sirens

That's strange... we don't get any fireworks here, must be a west coast thing
