Sorry I haven't been around much, my internet has been on and off due to storms in my area.

However, I need to ask this: what kind of music are you using, Jan? I am sure you know that all music used in recordings should also be definitely PD, so I need to make sure that's the case. Also, the music shouldn't overlap with the text. I am sure we have something about music in the wiki, I am just unable to look for it right now (because of the slowness of my internet >.<) But I will post a link here as soon as possible, if you don't find it first, with the guidelines about the use of music or sond effects in recordings. Smile

Hello, Leni---

I hope I haven't wandered into trouble ... I certainly am familiar with the Wiki guidelines for music. I'm using a device I used before in "Mary Cary" to avoid subjecting listeners to my inadequate singing.

In "Mary Cary," where something in the text was sung, I spoke the "sung" lines, but underscored them with the appropriate tune. The MC gave me the appropriate wording to use in the disclaimer, and I used the device in two chapters. Because this story quotes Christmas carols in a few places, I'm using the same device. In Part 2, lines are quoted from two Christmas carols. I recorded the accompanying music on a keyboard and mixed it in softly under the "sung" lines only. I included a disclaimer at the end of the section like the one I used in "Mary Cary."

In Part 2, the quotations are two lines from "Angels from the Realms of Glory" (@ 12:59) and two lines from "While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks by Night" (@ 17:00), which are both in the public domain. In sections not yet recorded, "Silent Night," "Adeste Fidelis," and "When Christ Was Born of Mary Free" are quoted, which are also in the public domain.

Because it was okay to use this device in "Mary Cary," I thought it would be okay to use it again here. I'm trying to enhance the listening, not to interfere with it, but if it's definitely not okay, let me know, and I'll retrofit Part 2.

----- Jan

Hi Jan!

Part 3 is awesome! I loved every minute of it! Cloud Nine (...and I'm so glad there is more to the stories of the toys... I felt so sorry for them especially the poor Flanton Dog!)

Elli Very Happy
