sorry about my oversight in pasting the link for gala dress... glad you were able to sort it out =)

BT, If you would like it for this collection, I have Sarah Orne Jewett's "Late Supper" recorded and in editing mode.

I sent you a PM on the specs, Suzie; welcome to LV. I'll have to wait until you record the 1 minute test http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/1-Minute_Test before I can add your name to the Magic Window; however, making first claim for those sections ensures that they're yours.

Section is yours! MW updated. If you know what you're recording, I can add that to the Window. Cool

Um... I've already named the twenty authors for this collection. How 'bout saving it for the second one I mentioned in an earlier post? Besides, I want to hear you read something like Amy Lowell's Patterns
http://www.gutenberg.org/files/841/841-h/841-h.htm#2H_4_0005 (actually, I'd like to BC that as a single poem project with as many international women readers as possible -- I think it's a great anti-war poem, the way it builds to that final harsh crescendo -- but...)

Thanks so much; I'm out of town until Saturday but will record my test this weekend. Looking forward to working with LV Smile

Sure thing, I'll save Late Supper for volume 2 ... sign me up for Charlotte Perkins Gilman and Elizabeth Stuart Phelps in this volume.

Crystal, thanks for volunteering but as I told your fellow newbie, I'll have to wait until you record the 1 minute test -- directions are here:
http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/1-Minute_Test before I can add your name to the Magic Window. I'm also suggesting that you limit your reading to one entry in this collection (same goes for Suzie) until you two get your bearings on LibriVox. You should pick something reasonably short, like a poem, or a story that can be read in 20 minutes or less.

Cool. MW updated. Smile

And newbies, don't be put off by this. Thistlechick has recorded whole books, so she has more experience than most of us, and in my book (literally) experience earns more readings.

If you can provide a published-before-1923 version, go for it. I don't see it in either of the two short story collections on Project Gutenberg, but http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Prodigies has a link to a college collection here:
http://cather.unl.edu/ss034.html

However, Thistlechick, Annise, or RuthieG need to weigh in on this one for recordability.

That's the site I was looking at--it states the story was first published in July 1897. I'll wait on a judgment call before I record it, though.

Hello there,

I would love to record something for this project but i'm having a little trouble finding the text (texts?) in Project Gutenberg.

Could someone help me? Forgive my ignorance, i've just joined LibriVox...

Best wishes,

Angela Munro
