Quote:
"Love!--A word by superstition thought a God; by use turned to an humour; by self-will made a flattering madness." - Alexander and Campaspe.

Lady Juliana, the indulged and coddled seventeen ("And a half, papa") year old daughter of the Earl of Cortland, is betrothed by her father to a wealthy old Duke who can give her every luxury. She instead runs away and marries her very handsome but penniless lover. Very soon, they are forced to travel to Scotland to live with his quirky family in a rundown "castle" in the barren wilderness. Can this marriage survive?(Summary by P.Cunningham)

  • Target completion date:June 1, 2010
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/12669
  • Type of proof-listening required: Standard Miss Stav will be DPL on this project

If we don't hear from you for three months, your project will be opened up to a group project as soon as a Book Coordinator can be found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to have it re-instated).

    MAGIC WINDOW:

      "Recording by [your name]"
    • Say:
"Marriage, volume 1, by Susan Edmonstone Ferrier . [Chapter]"

For the second and all subsequent sections, you may optionally use the shortened form of this intro disclaimer:
    • "Chapter [number] of Marriage volume 1. This LibriVox recording is in the Public Domain.
    • If you wish, say:
      "Recording by [your name]"
    • Say:
"Marriage, volume 1, by Susan Edmonstone Ferrier. [Chapter]"

    End of recording
    • At the end of the section, say:
      End of [Chapter]"
    • If you wish, say:

    • At the end of the book, say (in addition):
"End of Marriage, by Susan Edmonstone Ferrier ."

You'll need to select an MC, which for this project is: le - Leni
    • If this doesn't work, or you have questions, please check our How To Send Your Recording wiki page.

MW set up. I assume you know how to deal with the MW. I have added your name, but you can fill in the section titles as you prefer.

I haven't chosen any genres to catalog, could you please check the list of genres (http://librivox.org/newcatalog/genres.php and give me suggestions? Smile

I think that's all... and since we have a DPL, I am moving this to Going Solo.

Happy reading! Very Happy

Thanks Leni!

As to categories - Romance, Historical Fiction, Teen/Young Adult, and Humor, I think would be the best fit for this particular book.

Nice to be working with you -

Patti

Chapter 2 is wonderful. You don't have to give the link to the text of every section. The listeners can find the etext in project gutenburg. You don't have to work so hard. But if you want to give links to texts of the sections, just let me know and I'll not comment about it.

I made the Google Docs in order to more easily manage the project, and to see how many words were in each chapter. Which is how I found out that one of the chapters had 7,000 words - Yikes! - and needed to be split.

I posted the links, forgetting that you have already read this book - (smile, wink) and yes, I'm enjoying it greatly.
